Captain Ray has been on Cape Cod for the past 30 years. He was introduced to salt water fishing the first week on Cape Cod and has been hooked ever since. From selling bluefish to local restaurants at age 13, scalloping at age 20 to finally getting his own boat at age 25, he's been fishing the open waters of Cape Cod ever since. Captain Ray obtained his US Coast Guard Masters License to be able to share his love of fishing with both young and old. His enthusiasm for fishing is sure to rub off and will ensure an exciting adventure.
Ray is also a seasoned commercial fisherman with tuna, cod, and haddock as his main catch. His passion is fishing for giant bluefin tuna with rod and reel. He also likes to hunt for tuna in his tower and then use the harpoon to catch them. In the 2007 season he managed to catch the two largest fish he has ever seen, and managed to land 3 giants in one week. One fish was 116" long and weighed in around 1100lbs. On that same trip after landing that large tuna another fish took the bait and was landed. That fish was much smaller. It was around 700 lbs. Two giants on the same day! The other large tuna came earlier in the week. It measured 112" long and weighed in at well over 900lbs. Those fish were just a few of the many tuna caught aboard the Lyndsy Liz that season. In 2008 Captain Ray had another incredible tuna week landing 9 giants in one week. Ask him to tell you some of the stories. Ray is also an avid diver and is looking forward to getting certified as a master diver so he'll be able to take visitors on diving charters.
He looks forward to having you aboard.
